The emphasis of this sequel proposal is the investigation and realization of a multi-channel phased array system for millimeter wave radar and communication systems, based on the results of the initial project phase. The focus of the investigations is on the mutual coupling of the channels as well as the interface of the phase shifter and the radiating antenna. In addition the novel active analog and passive digital phase shifter concepts found in the initial project phase should be investigated in further detail. The analytical investigation of the behavior of the circuits will allow for an optimized phase shifter design. Finally the successful concepts will be investigated and tailored in terms of miniaturization as well as linearity with respect to input power. Furthermore the combination of the developed phase shifters with an existing frequency-agile antenna array will be investigated as a basis of a 2D-beamsteering system.
