Project Details
Basic problems of spin-noise signal formation (A05)
Subject Area
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term
from 2015 to 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 249492093
The project is aimed to provide progress in understanding the details of signal formation in the spectroscopy of spin noise (SNS). Based on doped quantum dots (QD) and atomic systems we will perform experiments to directly test the presence of a scattering field outside the aperture of the probe beam. The same QD system will be used to study the effects of fluctuating nuclear fields and nuclear spin polarization on the electron spin coherence. Furthermore, we plan to use SNS to demonstrate the quantum effect of fluctuations in an entirely oriented spin system. The effect of spin polarization on the longitudinal and transverse magnetization noise will be studied for an atomic system (metal vapors) with spin larger than ½.
