Project Details
X-ray analysis of magnetic structures (C06)
Subject Area
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term
from 2015 to 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 249492093
The project "X-ray analysis of magnetic structures" focuses on structural investigation of magnetic semiconductors and ferromagnet-semiconductor hybrid structures by high-resolution x-ray scattering. As magnetic and structural properties are correlated, a detailed study of samples on an atomic level is essential for the understanding of these materials. The project aims on the investigation of the magnetic structures in operation. Thus, optical excitation, electrical injection, temperature changes or magnetic fields will be applied to the samples and the response of the system will be monitored by x-ray scattering experiments. A particular focus will be on ferromagnetic semiconductors like GaMnAs or CdMnTe.
