Project Details
GRK 200: Fundamentals of Arthropod-Behavior: Genetics, Neurobiology, Ecology
Subject Area
Basic Research in Biology and Medicine
Term
from 1995 to 2004
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 270677
The scientific program combines genetic-molecularbiological approaches with neurobiological and behavior-ecological techniques and concepts. The PhD students enrolled in this program will be exposed to an integrated view of specific problems in animal behavior, and they will be trained in the experimental analysis on the cellular, organismis and population level. The main study objects are insects, but the research plan also includes investigations of insect/plant interactions. The latter aspect is underlined by the close cooperation of this research training group with the collaborative research centre "Ecology, physiology and biochemistry of plants and animals under stress". Special lectures and courses presented by the professors of theresearch training group and by guest lecturers assure a wide ranging teaching program.
