The research interest of this research training group is the interdisciplinary investigation into developments in medieval and early modern science and culture from the close of the 11th century to the middle of the 18th century. Its main emphases include the understanding of science, the development of universities, intellectual currents, and their literary and artistic manifestations. The aim of this course is to open research plans to interdisciplinary questions and thus to contribute to a general understanding of the above developments.
