Subject Area

Term
from 2000 to 2009
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 273201
The aim of this research training group is to evolve a picture science from an anthropological point of view. The always very close relationships between image, body and medium as the three constant parameters of the history of the image producing media are to be analysed. Not only an interdisciplinary approach which also includes nature sciences is necessary but also an intercultural and wide historical perspective. The young researchers are envolved in a program which includes seminars, lectures, colloquia and excursions as well and which offers elaborated insights in the wide range of the history of the image.
