Project Details
GRK 726: Materials and Concepts of Quantum Information Processing
Subject Area
Condensed Matter Physics
Term
from 2001 to 2007
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 273345
The program aims to implement methods for processing Quantum Information in solid state and condensed matter systems using devices based in this field such as quantum dots in microcavitiesor spin systems addressed through nuclear magentic resonance.Furthermore, these implementations should allow the applications of algorithms already devised by computer scientists. In particular we are interested in the realization of individual Qubits, their coupling into quantum registers and the addressing, measuring, and scaling to larger sizes of these registers.A fundamental aspect of this work will be the suppression of decoherence.
