Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 273431
The research training group aims at developing and providing efficientmethods for solving problems in the field of Automatic Configuration in Open Systems. The College deals with a domain-spanning topic from the new, interdisciplinary research field Mediatronics in the Heinz Nixdorf Institute, which is occupied with the suitable integration of technical products and services in open, dynamic systems. The research training group is intended to offer a platform for linking the various facets of this topic via a three-level perspective (node - network - application), at the same time dealing with the respective problems of automatic configuration on each level. On node level, we plan to occupy ourselves with the topic "Reconfigurable Architectures in Mechatronic Systems" and will especially concentrate on embedded hardware. These nodes are equipped with at least one communication interface and thus become automatically configurable clients in a communication network. On network level, we want to develop and analyse new methods for the administration and routing in "Heterogeneous, Dynamic Communication Networks". In close cooperation with users from the fields of Mechatronics and Production Planning and Control, a third field will deal with questions of "Dynamic Application Configuration" in dynamically changing organisation units.
