Synthesis of boronic ester cages with dimensions in the nanometer regime by dynamic covalent chemistry

The projects objective is to get a deeper insight into the synthesis of hape-persistent sthree-dimensional organic cage compounds on the basis of the formation of boronic esters. The influence of constitutional and geometrically structural diffeerences of the used tetraoles on the formation of cage compounds and theitr dimers will be investigated. Depending on the geometries of the used tetraoles, cages with archimedian or platonic shape are accessible, with inner diameters up to 5 nm. The dynamic exchange of precursor molecules will be investigated too, as well as a poststabilisation of the cages by the formation of multiple C-C bonds in the outer sphere.
