The project is concerned with the development and analysis of a numerical method for the time-dependent Schrödinger equations. Currently, numerical schemes are restricted to a set of parameter values, which do not allow for simulations of real life processes. Based on the results obtained in the stationary case, we focus on the challenge to design an efficient and robust scheme, which is applicable to realistic unsteady problems. The method includes modern error based mesh adaption and will be implemented in the open-source library deal.II. Thus, beside usual publications, the algorithm will be directly available to scientist via this library.
