Project Details
The effect of climate change on the carbon balance between photosynthesis and respiration in planktonic and benthic microalgae
Applicant
Professor Dr. Christian Wilhelm
Subject Area
Oceanography
Term
from 2015 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 274037400
Final Report Year
2019
Final Report Abstract
The critical evaluation of the methods of fluorescence based respiration measurements from literature showed that the methods are not sufficiently robust to be transferred to different species in a real population under changing environmental conditions. Therefore, an application neither in the lab nor in nature can be recommended based on the obtained results.
