Z01 (Immunopathology Unit), will provide support and central guidance in all aspects of tissue related analysis including histology, immunohistology and molecular pathology. In addition, more advanced multimodal technologies (including multiplex immunofluorescence, imaging mass cytometry as well as MIBI scope, a revolutionary imaging platform that allows comprehensive phenotypic profiling and spatial analysis of the tissue microenvironment) will help the individual research groups to decipher complex spatial alterations and signatures of immunopathologies in various tissues. Moreover, Z01 activities also include support in all issues of sample preparation, development of novel staining protocols and methods. The versatile Z01 platform allows IMPATH to characterize, annotate and decipher in situ changes of complex immune-mediated pathologies.
