Precision polymers composed of long methylene sequences and ring-like defects are an interesting class of materials for thermoplastic composites containing continuous fibers for light weight applications. Like in comb-like polymers, different lamellar structures with spacings in the range 2-4 nm where nanodomains containing rings or CH2 units alternate can form. Central aim is to study the influence of (i) shear fields and (ii) interfacial constraints on structure formation, morphology orientation and anisotropic properties of linear precision and related polymers. Similarities and differences between precision and comb-like polymers are consid¬ered.
