D02 will explore how reference can be incorporated into frame-representations. Based on the project idea, namely to link “private” mental representations to public meaning, intentionality as the mental counterpart to reference will be systematically connected with explanations of (linguistic) reference. This will be done by discussing the relevant psychological and philosophical literature on attention and salience in a PhD project, by discussing the relevant philosophical and linguistic literature on reference in a Postdoc project, and by integrating the results and applying them to frames.
