Project Details
Role of epithelial cell death for re-establishment of the gut barrier during resolution of intestinal inflammation (C05)
Subject Area
Gastroenterology
Term
from 2015 to 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 261193037
Project C05 investigates regulators of epithelial cell death and their role for resolution of intestinal inflammation. They discovered that PGE2-EP4 receptor signaling induces resolution of inflammation by suppressing MLKL-induced necroptosis in the gut epithelium. The project now aims at deciphering the molecular link between prostanoid signaling and necroptosis, at evaluating its therapeutic potential and at characterizing prostanoids during the course of intestinal inflammation.
