Project Details
NMR Methods for the Characterization of Polymers (Q02)
Subject Area
Experimental and Theoretical Physics of Polymers
Term
from 2016 to 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 259079535
Based on the work in the first funding period, dedicated NMR approaches will be further developed, but also new methods included. The work on determination of mass distributions and dispersity of 1D polymers via diffusion ordered spectroscopy (DOSY), guest moiety diffusion in constraining 3D polymers, and the coupling of SEC-NMR will be continued. The later will be widened with respect to reaction monitoring also including light induced reactions. A new methodic issue is the in-situ combination of mechanical shear and NMR (Rheo-NMR) to address the impact and potential use of mechanical stress on polymers.
