Dynamics and trafficking of mGBP protein complexes within membranous compartments (A06)
Subject Area
Immunology
Term
since 2016
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 267205415
The GTPase family of mGBPs are crucial proteins in cell autonomous immunity against Toxoplasma gondii. We investigate the mechanisms involved in mGBP regulated control of T. gondii infection. For this, we study the molecular interaction of mGBPs with host- and parasite-derived proteins, that we identified within the CRC. Furthermore, we will define the molecular mechanisms of lipid and membrane binding by mGBPs by using synthetic membranes and by superresolution and electron microscopy of intracellular pathogen vacuole membranes. Finally, we will study the role of ISGylation of mGBPs in the context of T. gondii infection.
