This project aims at characterising sensory cortical value computations underlying decision making. By combining multichannel recordings in behaving animals and MEG recordings in humans we will investigate the temporal dynamics of value representations in neuronal oscillations both at the level of circumscribed local circuits and larger-scale patterns of activity distributed across the entire neocortex. Pharmacological manipulations will be used to test candidate mechanisms underlying the dynamics of these value representations. Finally, by applying similar computational models to both the rodent and human data sets we will be able to describe common functional principles of adaptive value representations and choice.
