Recordings on ubiquitous devices threaten the privacy of bystanders. We envision a technical solution where recording devices receive the privacy preferences of nearby users, and enforce these by blurring (or removing) the respective parts of the recorded data. We will develop suitable signatures for identifying users in data, using multiple sources for accuracy and cloud services for efficiency. We will investigate user privacy policies and context sensing methods. So as not to endanger bystander privacy in the process, we will employ secure function evaluation on encrypted signatures, and we will protect against cloud providers and unintended information flow, relying on methods developed in the preceding projects.
