Final Report Abstract
The work carried out in this project yielded two ”firsts”: First, the demonstration that planetary transit observations can be carried out with SWIFT in the UV, thus opening a new observational window in addition to the HST; and second, the demonstration that planetary transits in He I 10830 can be studied from the ground with suitable instrumentation (such as CARMENES). The only previous detection had been made with HST!
