We propose to observe members of the Extendend Lyman Alpha Reference Sample (eLARS), a pan-chromatic survey of 42 nearby laboratory star-forming galaxies in which we are studying the complex physics of the resonant Lyman radiative transfer. Spatially resolved spectroscopy of Ha emission in the eLARS galaxies traces the intrinsic Lya radiation field in real and frequency space, therefore constraining the initial conditions of the Lya radiation transport through the interstellar medium. In conjunction with our suite of HST imaging and spectroscopy and VLA HI observations, these data will be vital to build a coherent picture of Ly radiative transfer in galaxies, thereby supporting the interpretation of existing and upcoming high-redshift Lya emitter samples.
