Project Details
Development of system and application software for future supercomputer architectures (C02*)
Subject Area
Theoretical Computer Science
Term
from 2016 to 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 35592816
This project will be responsible for the development of system and lattice QCD application software required for an optimal exploitation of the QPACE 3 and QPACE 4 supercomputers, which will be based on the next Xeon Phi generation and a new 64-bit ARMv8 architecture enhanced by new vector processing capabilities, respectively. The software development will consist of the design and implementation of highly optimized kernel applications for critical code regions, the exploitation of improved code generation techniques, and the design and implementation of a highly optimized communication library.
