Zusammenfassung der Projektergebnisse

The aim of this project was to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the dynamic cellular interfaces associated with the transitions migratory cells perform, leading to cell motility and those characterizing migration towards directional cues in the environment. In addition, it was proposed to investigate the events leading to loss of cell polarity, for example when cells need to change their migration direction, or stop at the target. As described in the report, we have gained detailed description and experimental information that provide mechanistic understanding of the process of gain of cellular polarity along the front-rear axis, the components and features allowing the cells to migrate in environments of different biophysical properties and the periodic polarity loss for the purpose of corrections to the migration route.
