Dynamic time-harmonic behaviour of smart patches on hygrothermalpiezoelectric substrates

Final Report Abstract
An analytical model was set up and the interface debonding for the overlap zone of a smart patch/layer configuration under combined time harmonic load at environmental conditions has been derived and found. The numerical examples give the hygrothermopiezoelectric behaviours of the considered short and long overlap zones of lightweight structures and are illustrated by figures and discussed. The influence of the adhesives on the interface debond length, fatigue and change of the type of solution as well as the change of the value of the thickness ratio are also done, illustrated and discussed. The fatigue life of the adhesive is also illustrated giving the number of cycles at which the structure totally fails. After validation of the model, the optimal analysis using GA is done, selecting the short overlap zone as the preferable one.
