The BEC-BCS crossover in a gas with controlled disorder (B05)
Subject Area

Term
since 2016
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 277625399
Disorder is ubiquitous and can strongly modify the properties and dynamics of a quantum system. This project will investigate the transport properties of a resonantly interacting, i.e. unitary fermionic quantum gas in a disordered potential. We will investigate specifically how superfluid behavior is affected by disorder, and how transport can be controlled by time-dependence of the disorder. Finally, we will study unitary quantum gases in disorder which can resolve the underlying pairs. This project thus aims at unravelling the contributions of disorder, strong interactions and external drive to dynamically control superfluid transport.
