Project Details
Local and non-local relaxation dynamics of charge carriers (B01)
Subject Area
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term
since 2016
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 278162697
This project analyzes the non-equilibrium carrier transport between different locations and compares the respective nonlocal relaxation dynamics with the local relaxation at a single location. The aim is to draw conclusions about the microscopic processes mediating relaxation. The investigated material systems are metallic heterostructures and two-dimensional materials. The non-equilibrium is generated either by optical excitation or by THz field transients and the dynamics is planned to be manipulated by chemical doping. Analysis will be carried out by time-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy.
