Project Details
Structural dynamics in impulsively excited nanostructures (C01)
Subject Area
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term
since 2016
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 278162697
The project investigates the non-equilibrium structural response of nanoscale materials after impulsive excitation using time-resolved diffraction techniques. Electron-phonon coupling and phonon non-equilibrium, competing local relaxation and transport, strain driven dynamics, and phase transitions will be addressed. The project aims to understand the dependence of elementary processes on composition, size, and morphology and the excitation conditions, and how this can be exploited to induce and manipulate material properties.
