Project Details
Coupling between structural and electronic excitations: an ab-initio investigation (C02)
Subject Area
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term
since 2016
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 278162697
The project exploits time-dependent density functional theory calculations and provides insight on the laser-induced excitation and charge carrier dynamics with a focus on anisotropic systems. The response of condensed matter to strong electric fields as in surface-plasmon-polaritons will be simulated. Furthermore, the analysis will be extended from linear to circularly polarized light to elucidate the effect of induced angular momentum on the carrier dynamics. Using machine-learned force-fields from DFT lattice excitations will be targeted.
