Project Details
Inter-tissue proteostasis networks to combat α-synuclein mediated endo-lysosomal damage in C. elegans (20)
Subject Area
General Genetics and Functional Genome Biology
Term
from 2016 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 201348542
The group of Carmen Nussbaum-Krammer (TP20) aims to investigate whether and how individual tissues deploy specific surveillance and damage responses in the context of a metazoan organism. The group will also examine how amyloidogenic proteins impair lysosomal function and how insulin/IGF-1 signaling via the FOXO transcription factor DAF-16 maintains lysosomal health in the presence of pathogenic proteins during aging.
