Project Details
High-Precision Laser Printing of Nanoparticle Metasurfaces for Light Control, Sensors, and Nanolasers
Subject Area
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term
from 2016 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 317867676
Based on the results of the previous project, the here proposed project aims at further improvements and extension of the LIT-based laser printing technology and its applicability towards realization of novel functional and low-cost photonic devices. To exploit the scientific potential of the proposed technology, the focus will be put on the generation of two-dimensional (2D) particle lattices as initial demonstrators. Novel materials will be investigated for their use with the laser printing process and, for the first time, specially pre-structured material films will be applied for fast production of large-area, defect-free, and precisely ordered nanoparticle metasurfaces for light control, high-resolution optical sensors, and nanolasers.
