Project Details
Simulation technologies for thermal buckling in aerothermodynamically loaded thin-walled structures (D10*)
Subject Area
Mechanics
Term
from 2016 to 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 26293245
Former results of SP D6 have shown that aerothermal loads induced by high enthalpy flow in combination with unavoidable constraints for the movement of the structure might lead to undesirable localized plastic deformation and buckling phenomena. The goal of the new SP D10 is to provide the corresponding compu-tational model that considers important aspects such as the thermomechanically coupled viscoplastic be-haviour of the material as well as the interaction with the fluid flow. Furthermore the effect of thermal barrier coatings as well as the influence of oxidized surfaces on emission coefficient and lifetime shall be incorpo-rated into the model. Experimental validation will be achieved in cooperation with SP D6, D2 and D3.
