Project B2 deals with the digital processing of signals from magnetoelectric (ME) sensors with special focus on multi-channel systems. For this purpose, the readout principles developed so far are extended to multi-channel variants with cross-sensitivities between the sensors being minimized. Furthermore, the localization of ME sensors is investigated, since an exact position and orientation of the sensors is essential for inverse solutions. Noise reduction is investigated with the help of blind source separation techniques and non-linear approaches. Overall, this results in a closed-loop real-time system for processing the ME sensor signals.
