Project Details
Manufacturing of wear resistant (ceramic)-steel casts for crusher and hoisting machines by infiltration (T04)
Subject Area
Materials in Sintering Processes and Generative Manufacturing Processes
Term
from 2016 to 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 54473466
The transfer project T4 focusses on the production by infiltration processes and on the testing of TRIP-Matrix-Composites, consisting of ceramic foams, loose ballotines and/or fine dispersed ceramic particles and cast steel. Therefore, all necessary steps to develop wear resistant (ceramic)-steel casts for crusher and hoisting machines will be passed: First, the casting of wear teeth with TRIP-effect, which will be reinforced by the ceramic inserts, is of interest. During the entire process of development wear tests will be carried out and the prototypes will be tested under operation conditions by the application partner.
