A02 focuses on the generic configuration droplets, which is used to investigate dynamic processes during the coalescence and breakup of droplets with high temporal and spatial resolution. Fluids with shear rate dependent viscosity or visco-elastic properties as well as mixtures are considered. The spectrum of substrates is extended to swellable and nanostructure-coated surfaces as well as to surfaces with patterned wetting and dewetting properties. In addition, temperature gradients are applied in order to study the coalescence and breakup behavior during heat transport.
