Project Details
Quantitative image processing (Z02)
Subject Area
Biophysics
Term
since 2016
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 278001972
The development of novel fluorescence microscopy methods made it possible to observe the localization, dynamics and even the (approximate) number of cellular proteins in the context of the cell, even down of the single molecule level. Improvements in labeling have been accompanied by increased sensitivity and resolution of microscopy methods, allowing highly precise measurements in cells. A major bottleneck is the generation of tailor-made software solutions for the targeted extraction of the specific data required to test biological hypotheses. The aim of project Z02 is to provide training in image analysis techniques and to generate dedicated software solutions to the projects in the Transregio initiative.
