Architectural design concepts for adaptive spaces (A03)

From an architectural perspective, A03 explores adaptation in an interdependent spatial, technological, and socio-cultural context. Ad-aptation is thus considered multi-dimensionally in its open and mutual development of technologies, spaces, social agencies and aes-thetic experiences. Comprising of not only theoretical but also design components, the research regards different perspectives and actors in order to answer central architectural questions of communication, interaction, and design. Special attention is given to occu-pants. The aim is to discuss, with the developments of the SFB in mind, socially relevant aspects of an open adaptation, to develop an adaptive design approach, and to discuss shifting social relationships with nature and technology.
