Dark matter indirect detection: phenomenology and searches with IceCube (D03)

Subject Area Nuclear and Elementary Particle Physics, Quantum Mechanics, Relativity, Fields
Astrophysics and Astronomy
Term since 2017
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 283604770

Dark matter particles could annihilate or decay producing neutrinos. In this project we will investigate the current constraints on the dark matter properties using data from the IceCube neutrino telescope. We will analyse a large class of dark matter models (leading to different effective operators in the non-relativistic limit) and we will investigate the impact of various particle physics and astrophysical uncertainties on the search, emphasizing the complementarity with other search strategies. We will further investigate the discovery potential of particle dark matter (or in general any new physics) with future neutrino telescopes.
