S02 addresses the open research problem of material characterization employing a non-destructive measurement approach in the THz frequency band utilizing MIMO systems. In this process, various challenges like efficient utilization of the large bandwidth in THz band and compensation of signal distortions have to be investigated. This has to be performed with minimum power consumption, cost, and complexity. To this end, S02 utilizes properties such as common sparsity among the frequency bands and the low-rank nature of the signal distortions to develops optimal algorithms to achieve those goals.
