Final Report Abstract

The aim of the project was to compile commentaries on Hegel’s philosophy of nature, history and art as part of the historical-critical edition of the works of Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (Hegel: ‘Gesammelte Werke’). The commentary volumes on Hegel’s philosophy of art (GW 28,4) and on Hegel’s philosophy of nature (GW 24,4) were both edited by Bernadette Collenberg-Plotnikov and published by Felix Meiner in 2023 and 2025, respectively. The commentary volume on the philosophy of history (GW 27,5) is still in preparation due to unexpected circumstances. The same applies to the volume on the philosophy of religion, for which, contrary to the original plan (see project title), no funding has been applied for.
