Final Report Abstract

Im Rahmen des Projektes konnte erstmalig die Hydratbildung an Grenzflächen in-situ studiert werden. Ein großer Erfolg war die Messung von Hydrat-Kristalliten an der Wasser-Kohlendioxid-Grenzfläche. Dadurch konnte das Modell der sog. local structuring hypothesis erstmalig bestätigt werden. Weiterhin konnte die Hydratbildung an der Wasser-Gas-Grenzfläche allgemein quantitativ untersucht und generelle Mechanismen identifiziert werden. Bevor eine makroskopische Hydratbildung einsetzen kann, bildet sich zunächst eine Nanometer dicke Schicht an der Grenzfläche, in der die Gasmoleküle stark angereichert sind. Damit konnten die wesentlichen Ziele des Projektes erreicht werden.
