Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 299150580
One project goal is to develop a stimulation device for targeted electrical stimulation of articular cartilage for future human application. To this end, a demonstrator of a multi-electrode array implant is developed, including a feedback system for determining the electrical conductivity and dielectric properties of the surrounding tissue, using a human ex vivo model of the knee joint. Furthermore, the rheological, tribological, and biological properties of biphasic scaffold structures to repair osteochondral defects are investigated. Therefore, further studies on gender-specific molecular patterns of chondrogenic and osteogenic cell differentiation are conducted.
