Final Report Abstract

Taken together, these data point to two previously unappreciated regulators of food intake in the arcuate nucleus of the rat hypothalamus: the neuropeptide PACAP, and microRNA-7a. Their physiological significance will need to be addressed by functional assays. Further, the experiments add valuable information for the successful isolation of RNA from small neuronal populations at defined anatomical sites in the brain.
