Project Details
Gaze dynamics and reinforcement learning during Pavlovian conditioning (B03)
Subject Area
Mathematics
Term
since 2017
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 318763901
The project will apply our models of eye-movement control, developed in previous funding periods, to Pavlovian conditioning, where model parameters change over time due to reinforcement learning. Our new approach will thus be an innovative combination of reinforcement learning with explicit, process-based models of gaze control. This research aims to provide an understanding of how reinforcement learning interacts with the dynamical cognitive processes of gaze control, such as attention allocation and visual working memory, and how these processes change in psychological disorders.
