Spinning disk confocal microscope

The spinning disk confocal microscope (SDM) is going to be used in conjunction with an electron microscope (SEM) to facilitate Correlated Light and Electron Microscopy applications. It will allow for rapid, high-resolution fluorescence imaging of large tissue sections prepared for subsequent EM measurement. A small stage incubator will provide live cell imaging conditions. Calibrated stage inserts and accompanying software solutions will facilitate the transition of samples from the SDM to the SEM instrument. The instrument will be placed in an imaging core facility to serve as a central place for instrument-based services.
