Final Report Abstract
Our prospective study has identified thrombin measurements using sensitive CAT analyses in PRP but not in PPP to be predictive for assessing bleeding in prostatectomy. Thrombin generation measured at timepoint of admission was associated with bleeding in cancer patients undergoing prostatectomy. Clearly, or study has limitations such as the low patient number and further studies are needed to confirm our finding. Together, we identified a biomarker to assess coagulation status in cancer patients with potential diagnostic implications for assessing risk of invasive procedures.
