On the basis of the diplomatic correspondency preserved in vienna it is examined wether Berlin court opera founded by Frederic II was considered as a mode of communication medium with the viennese court. Examination may lead to a more concise view on musical representation by leading the attention away from the idea of representational communication to the practice using one appropriate example.
