National license for Emerald Business, Management and Economics eBook Collection 1991 – 2016
Final Report Abstract
The ZBW is a central information infrastructure facility for economics. It fulfills a nationwide supply mandate for economic literature. As part of a DFG-funded project in the field of "Scientific Literature Supply and Information Systems" (LIS), a national license for the Emerald Business, Management and Economics eBook Collection 1991 – 2016 has been permanently provided since the reporting period of 2018. In addition to the actual conclusion of the license, the ZBW has taken over subsequent processes, such as metadata management. It also serves as a clearinghouse for access security. Another focus of the ZBW is to provide the necessary infrastructure for storage and long-term archiving to ensure the ongoing availability of licensed data. Through the national license, direct access to 1,167 titles in 91 series is facilitated during the license period of 1991 – 2016. For the period starting from 2017, the ZBW has independently undertaken the continuation of the archive with a three-year moving wall until 2025 (ZDB-1- EPB). At the time of the final report, 252 institutions are benefiting from the national license. Additionally, the ZBW, in a consortium, offers access to the current titles for the Emerald Business, Management and Economics eBook Series Collection. Complementing the national license is the Emerald eJournals Premier Collection Archive, also realized by the ZBW as a national license (ZDB-1-EFD).
