To support its members in publishing open-access articles during the funding period of 2018 and 2019, Freie Universität Berlin maintains a publication fund. The initial funding provided by the German Research Foundation (DFG) is used to establish a reliable financing structure for publication fees. The fund covers fees for publications in original, peer-reviewed open-access journals. Accompanying organizational, technical an legal measures ensure that researchers are offered a sustainable service for making their research findings openly accessible.
