No electronic personal dosemeter is able to measure always the correct dose or dose rate in pulsed radiation fields of photons either because the pulse rate is too high or the pulse length is too short. Unfortunately, pulsed radiation fields commonly occur during x-ray examinations. The aim of this project is to develop and test a method for active photon dosimetry using a dedicated photon counting pixel detector that is a able to determine the correct dose in continuous and in pulsed radiation fields. In addition to personal dose monitoring, ambient dose monitoring in pulsed radiation fields will also be investigated.
