We study how changes in gender inequality affect women’s opportunities and their roles in society, drawing on both historical and contemporary data. The aim is to examine how women’s economic prospects affect family decisions related to marriage, fertility, work, and education, and how norms, policies, and perceptions influence these dynamics.
